You can see an alphabetical list of all artists, by clicking on the letter of the alphabet. If you want to narrow that list down by format, just choose a format before choosing the letter. Choose "other" for accessories.
For both "artist" and "title" searches it is best to start by only using one word. Try to use the most relevant word. If you put three words in the artist field, it will match any artist with any of those three words in their name! If you type "The Dog", you will get all the bands with either "The" or "Dog" in their name. So for example "The Beatles" are easier to find by just putting in "Beatles", because then you won't also get "The Ramones", "The Cure" , etc.
Adding a title with an artist will really trim down the search results, so if you put "The Beatles" for artist and "Night" for title, any artists with either "the" or "beatles" in their name will come up only if they also have "night" in their title.
With artist and title searches, you can also set the format before searching to narrow down that search even more.
